Cambodia Earns More Than $37 Million in Angkor Ticket Sales for 2023

SIEM REAP: In 2023, more than 800,000 foreign tourists bought tickets to Angkor, totalling more than $37 million in revenue, an increase of more than 200% compared to 2022.

According to a report by the Angkor Institute on January 2, foreign tourists bought 798,069 tickets to Angkor, while the revenue collected from ticket sales was $37,198,988 US. Compared to the same period in 2022, it was an increase of 222.68%.

In December alone, 98,073 tourists bought tickets, earning the park $4,652,141 US.

Separately, tickets sales at Koh Ker Temple have skyrocketed since its induction on the UNESCO World Heritage List this year. In December, the temple received 2,526 foreign tourists, earning $37,890 US, while the yearly income was over $222,000 US.

Boats on the Tonle Sap also brought in $564,671 US for the year, with December tickets bringing in $63,638 US alone.

Siem Reap Province attracted 304,064 tourists for the 2024 New Year celebration, 9,064 of which were international tourists.
